International Quality Accreditation Standards for Home HealthCare
Course Description
The Home Healthcare concept was conceived to support the healthcare system in meeting the growing demand and to deal with the increasing cost of hospital care. Making healthcare available at home reduces the risk of infection that may be acquired in hospitals especially during the global COVID-19 pandemic. In many developed countries, nursing homes and home healthcare are more preferred for the elderly and people who have compromised medical condition due to its convenience and cost-effectiveness that even allows the patient to stay close with the family to provide emotional support for a more holistic healing.
This necessitated the need to develop a platform that provides uniform services ensuring good care and patient safety outside of the hospital setting. The Quality & Accreditation Institute envisaged developing the standards applicable for home care. This workshop will give an overview on these accreditation standards and guidelines that are benchmarked with the best practices globally.
